About The Position

The Electrical Engineer will direct and coordinate continuous improvement activities using data-driven problem-solving techniques such as 5S, Kaizens, Kanban, Problem Solving (8D / 5-Why), Six Sigma, ME360, and Gemba Walks. This role involves project management of external contractors, ensuring adherence to plant safety policies, and developing/maintaining electrical and site drawings using AutoCAD. The engineer will assist in commissioning new plant equipment and systems, lead design changes and equipment overhauls involving new or tied-in control systems, and conduct training for system operations. Responsibilities include setting up, programming, verifying, and modifying electrical controls panels, circuitry, and equipment, as well as continuously improving control systems and processes. The role requires programming, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm), assisting with training and advanced troubleshooting for Maintenance, and experience with programming HMI/SCADA software (iFix, FTView, Ignition) and servo/inverter drives (Yaskawa, TECO, Allen Bradley, etc.). Maintaining electrical skills through continual education and the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, relay logic, and ladder diagrams are essential. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, experience in lieu of degree will be considered
Experience with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block (Studio 5000 a plus)
Experience with HMI/SCADA programming
Experience setting up process network devices and IIOT
Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of electrical equipment, and be able to perform well under pressure
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft based software and have exceptional computer skills

Nice To Haves

1 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical/Automation/Controls Engineer
Experience programming with various programming languages (Visual Basic and Python are a plus)
Experience with Networking and IT
Prior maintenance supervisory experience a plus
Experience designing electrical circuits for use in industrial controls, and knowledgeable of the NEC and OSHA standards as each relate to circuit design
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
CAD drawing capabilities – Proficient in AutoCAD

Responsibilities

Project Management of all projects involving external contractors and ensure contractors working on site adhere to all plant safety policies
Develop, maintain & update electrical and site drawings as required via AutoCAD
Assist in the commissioning of new plant equipment and systems following structured change process
Responsible for leading design changes and equipment overhauls involving new control systems or newly tied in controlled systems
Conducting training with applicable personnel for system operations to increase awareness and operation capability
Set up, program, verify, and modify electrical controls panels, circuitry, and equipment
Continuous improvement of control systems and processes
Program, troubleshoot and repair PLC’s (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm)
Assist in training and advanced troubleshooting as required with Maintenance
Experience with programming of HMI/SCADA software (iFix, FTView, Ignition)
Experience with programming servo and inverter drives (Yaskawa, TECO, Allen Bradley, etc.)
Maintain electrical skills and knowledge through continual education classes
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, relay logic and ladder diagrams
