About The Position

Aurex is seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our Hardware Design and Integration Team. You will be at the forefront of developing innovative hardware solutions for next-generation spacecraft, aircraft, and robotic systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and high-level problem-solving skills to bring complex, innovative ideas to life for our customers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work in person at our corporate headquarters in Huntsville, AL.
  • Bachelor�s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with industry experience, or a Master�s/Ph.D. with a focus on robotic or aerial systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in PCB design, circuit design, and hardware testing.
  • Proficiency in professional circuit design software (Altium Designer or KiCad), including schematic capture, layout, routing, and simulation.
  • Practical experience testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits using oscilloscopes and multimeters, plus hands-on skills in soldering and assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, set priorities, and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts constructively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for aerospace environments (vacuum and extreme temperature).
  • Foundational understanding of embedded software development and low-level hardware interaction.
  • Expertise in high-speed PCB design, signal integrity, and crosstalk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with PCB prototyping, fabrication methods, and advanced rework/defect correction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical architecture and design of custom hardware from concept to completion.
  • Design and develop PCBs using industry-standard CAD tools such as Altium.
  • Develop product requirements, component selection, Bill of Materials (BOMs), analysis, and schematic capture.
  • Conduct full product bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and qualification testing.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, mechanical, environments, and manufacturing teams to deliver fully functional products.
