About The Position

The Electrical Engineer Team Leader will be responsible for participating in project design from proposal to sealing Issued for Construction drawings. Projects will include a wide variety of machinery, systems, and structures for a range of industrial processes, including food processing, wood products, and mining. This position requires project management and leadership skills, with a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and tools. The role involves working closely with other engineering disciplines to accommodate all project needs and will help establish electrical engineering in the office by maintaining technical credibility, delivering high-quality support, building a scalable team, and positioning the department for growth. This position reports to the Engineering Department Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering field
  • PE Registration required
  • Five years of experience in consulting engineering, food processing, wood processing, mining and metals procession or equivalent.
  • Experience designing power distribution systems, motor control centers, and low- to medium-voltage electrical infrastructure for industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, control systems, and integration of electrical components with industrial equipment and processes.
  • Understanding of load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash analysis, and application of relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform technical work in accordance with prescribed techniques and procedures.
  • Manage project information and data.
  • Ensure project team members create deliverables that meet or exceed customer expectations and standards.
  • Drive business development efforts by building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat work, and contributing to client satisfaction.
  • Assist with proposal development, scope definition, fee estimates, and presentations.
  • Work independently but be quick to ask questions and draw upon internal, customer, and industry resources.
  • Build and maintain healthy, long-term, professional relationships with coworkers, customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate on project designs, drawings, and visual aids using standard computations and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively in person and in writing to keep customers, contractors, and project teams well informed.
  • Assume responsibility for filling in gaps in customer communication.
  • Organize and assign project tasks to other staff members.
  • Foster an environment where new ideas are discussed and developed collaboratively.
  • Help others overcome resistance to change.
  • Create solutions to customers' problems.
  • Lead others through the profession of electrical engineering by providing opportunities to shape their skillset and career trajectories.
