About The Position

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical engineering fundamentals.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate engineering work.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new technical concepts.
Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating physical substation design drawings with guidance from experienced engineers.
Work closely with the drafting team to develop accurate engineering drawings and design packages.
Perform basic engineering calculations to support project designs.
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), Basis of Design (BOD) documents, reports, and other engineering documentation.
Research and review applicable state, local, and industry design codes to support project compliance.
Learn and apply engineering principles to substation physical design challenges.
Develop an understanding of substation and switchyard layouts, equipment spacing requirements, and equipment functions.
Assist with equipment placement, electrical connection layouts, and design annotations.
Coordinate with civil, protection and controls, and other engineering disciplines to support project execution.
Work closely with senior engineers to build technical knowledge, solve engineering challenges, and gain increasing project responsibility.
