About The Position

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Production & Test for 3rd shift, with experience in troubleshooting and supporting complex electronic hardware in a production environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving issues across digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal systems at the circuit card and subsystem level. You’ll play a key role in supporting production, improving yield, and driving root-cause and corrective actions for hardware used in mission-critical defense applications. This role is primarily focused on production support and hardware troubleshooting, not new design work. Operate effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based production environment with minimal oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3–5+ years of experience supporting, testing, or troubleshooting electronic hardware in a production, manufacturing, or lab environment
  • Hands-on experience testing and/or debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electronic subsystems (digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal)
  • Proficiency using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies for hardware debugging and analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) to support failure analysis
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions on hardware issues
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, test, quality, and suppliers
  • Comfortable working onsite in a shift-based production environment (3rd shift)
  • Active Secret security clearance or obtainable (U.S. Citizenship required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting electrical hardware in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Background in failure analysis, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions
  • Familiarity with subsystem or system-level integration and test
  • Experience with engineering change processes (ECOs), redlines, and configuration-controlled documentation
  • Exposure to design or development of electronic or electro-mechanical subsystems (circuit design, fabrication, assembly processes)
  • Experience working in high-reliability or regulated industries (aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, etc.)
  • Familiarity with RF or mixed-signal systems and associated test/debug methods
  • Experience using engineering tools for analysis, simulation, or measurement (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on complex circuit card assemblies and subsystems in a production environment
  • Perform hands-on debugging using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies
  • Analyze failures, identify root cause, and drive corrective actions across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams
  • Support production and test operations by investigating defects, improving yield, and reducing recurring issues
  • Review and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials to support failure analysis and resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, test, and suppliers, to ensure hardware performance and delivery
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, including redlines, discrepancy reports, and engineering change packages
  • Evaluate defect trends and production data to identify opportunities for process and product improvement
  • Support supplier engagements, including technical issue resolution and statement of work development

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • comprehensive medical/dental/life and disability coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • professional development support
  • a flexible, friendly workplace
  • Relocation Assistance Available
