About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer/ Principal Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. This position is located: Roy, UT. The Command System team oversees the ground design of multiple electrical components required at different Sentinel weapon system facilities located across the nation. This role involves working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. The engineer will ensure appropriate coordination between electrical design and other integration teams, coordinate electrical system engineering content and work products, and conduct electrical analysis and/or develop LRU electrical designs. They will also develop Product Definition Packages (PDPs)/Analysis Data Packages (ADPs) and manage their full review and release process. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering deliverables such as one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, part data sheets, interconnect connect diagrams, specifications, electrical analysis, and trade studies. The role may also involve research, trade studies, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, cables, connectors, power systems, and test equipment. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to understand system-level interdependencies impacting electrical requirements and design constraints, and leadership principles such as integrity, respect, organization, and communication are expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience (for Electrical Engineer), or 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience (for Principal Engineer Electrical), or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD.
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Familiarity with industry/Military standards and codes (IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEC 60332, IEEE 299, UL, NEC 770, ISO 9001)
Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong written and verbal communication for preparing technical reports, specifications, and presenting design concepts to stakeholders.
Experience with electrical designs and/or analysis of subsystems or components.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.
Experience creating wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and bill of materials (BOM) documents.
Strong understanding of cable construction, materials, and performance characteristics (e.g., voltage rating, current carrying capacity, shielding)
Knowledgeable of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.
Proficiency with CAD/ECAD tools for cable design (Siemens Capital).
Ability to perform cable sizing, voltage drop, and ampacity calculations using analytical methods or software.
Experience managing design revisions, change orders, and interfacing with cross functional teams.
Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.
Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities.

Responsibilities
