Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree (for Electrical Engineer level).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD (for Principal Engineer Electrical level).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 yrs), with an ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Comfortable with electrical and/or power-systems design, electrical analysis, cable-harness design, and/or distribution boxes.
  • Knowledgeable with line loss, derating, bent pin, power load, and/or signal/power integrity analysis
  • Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, and presenting design concepts to stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with understanding industry codes, standards, specifications, and mil-specs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.
  • Experience creating wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and bill of materials (BOM) documents.
  • Strong understanding of cable construction, materials, and performance characteristics (e.g., voltage rating, current carrying capacity, shielding)
  • Knowledgeable of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Proficiency with CAD/ECAD tools for cable design (Siemens Capital).
  • Ability to perform cable sizing, voltage drop, and ampacity calculations using analytical methods or software.
  • Experience managing design revisions, change orders, and interfacing with cross functional teams.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.
  • Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings
  • Support formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
  • Working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination between electrical design/analysis and other integration teams.
  • Coordinate electrical system engineering content and work products.
  • Conduct electrical analysis and/or support LRU electrical designs
  • Develop Product Definition Packages (PDPs)/Analysis Data Packages (ADPs) and take them through the full review and release process.
  • Review engineering deliverables such as one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, part data sheets, interconnect connect diagrams, specifications, electrical analysis and trade studies
  • May perform research, trade studies, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, cables, connectors, power systems, test equipment, and more.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively to understand system level interdependencies that impact electrical requirements and design constraints.
  • Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication etc.
