About The Position

At Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects, you will help develop and deliver factories, grids, transit systems, and public infrastructure. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, technologists, and strategists who blend real-world experience with digital innovation and AI to transform how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed. This role is focused on building what's next in infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting large capital projects in power generation or process industries such as oil & gas, LNG, refining, chemicals, petrochemicals, or similar facilities
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing electrical engineering designs for large industrial facilities through engineering, procurement, construction, energization, and/or commissioning phases
  • Strong working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, transformers, switchgear, motors, grounding, protection and control, DC/UPS systems, cable/raceway systems, and electrical equipment installation and testing
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and other standards relevant to utility-scale power generation
  • Ability to read and critically evaluate one-lines, wiring/control diagrams, protection schemes, equipment specifications, electrical studies, vendor drawings, and engineering change documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical problems, develop practical recommendations, and communicate effectively with EoR engineers, contractors, OEMs, construction personnel, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders
  • Ability to perform field walkdowns/observations on foot across active construction areas and moderate to rough terrain and to comply with project PPE and site safety requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Direct engineering, design assurance, construction, or commissioning experience on utility-scale combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) or simple-cycle gas generation projects
  • Experience working in an Owner’s Engineer, Owner’s Representative, EPCM, or independent design assurance role
  • Experience reviewing Engineer of Record (EoR) deliverables and managing technical interfaces across OEMs, EPC contractors, construction contractors, and owner teams
  • Experience with projects executed under EPC, EPCM, multi-prime, or owner-managed contracting models
  • Experience supporting constructability reviews, system turnover, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, as applicable

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent design assurance reviews of electrical engineering deliverables prepared by the EoR, OEMs, and major equipment suppliers for utility-scale CCGT projects.
  • Review one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, electrical equipment specifications, load lists, cable schedules, grounding designs, raceway layouts, protection and control schemes, relay settings/coordination studies, short-circuit studies, load-flow studies, arc-flash studies, equipment layouts, vendor drawings, and other electrical deliverables.
  • Provide technical oversight of major plant electrical systems and interfaces, including generators, isolated-phase bus, generator step-up transformers, unit auxiliary and station service transformers, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, large motors, variable-frequency drives, DC systems, UPS systems, emergency/backup power, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, raceway, cable systems, and plant electrical balance of plant.
  • Evaluate interfaces among gas turbine and steam turbine generators, OEM electrical packages, plant auxiliary systems, the switchyard/interconnection, protection systems, excitation systems, synchronization systems, and plant DCS/I&C systems.
  • Review electrical system capacity, redundancy, reliability, equipment ratings, auxiliary-load assumptions, and design margins to help ensure alignment with plant operating requirements and performance objectives.
  • Review RFIs, technical queries, design deviations, field change notices, and proposed scope changes and provide owner-side recommendations regarding technical acceptability, electrical safety, reliability, cost/schedule implications, and required corrective actions.
  • Review NCRs and electrical installation/quality issues, evaluate EoR or contractor dispositions, and support mitigation of cable, termination, grounding, equipment, testing, protection, and installation deficiencies.
  • Support constructability and installation reviews including cable routing, raceway congestion, equipment access, grounding continuity, hazardous-area requirements where applicable, separation requirements, equipment maintainability, and temporary/permanent power sequencing.
  • Support MOC by evaluating electrical scope changes and identifying impacts to system studies, equipment ratings, protection settings, drawings, cable schedules, construction work packages, energization plans, costs, and schedule.
  • Support electrical system turnover, energization, commissioning, synchronization, startup, and performance testing by reviewing test procedures, system boundaries, energization prerequisites, relay/protection testing, OEM requirements, punch items, and readiness documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil/structural, I&C, construction, commissioning, project controls, commercial, and operations teams to resolve multidisciplinary interface issues.
  • Document design assurance findings, maintain technical issue/action logs, support project risk management, and communicate material electrical risks and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Promote electrical safety by design and identify conditions that could affect personnel safety, equipment protection, plant reliability, operability, maintainability, or grid/interconnection performance.
