About The Position

Elve, Inc is a deep-tech startup in Davis, CA, developing patent-pending technology for 100x faster wireless internet access using high-efficiency, lightweight millimeter-wave and near-THz RF power amplifiers. These solutions aim to enable next-generation wireless connectivity beyond 5G, high-resolution imaging, and radar. The company is seeking electrical engineers specializing in power electronics to contribute to bringing this technology to market. The role involves the design, analysis, and testing of power electronic circuits and systems, including unique high voltage circuits. The electrical engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power electronic systems into the product and will be responsible for creating and documenting design specifications and test procedures. This is a full-time salaried position, primarily based in either the San Francisco office or the Davis factory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency with power electronics circuit design, including converters, magnetics, analog and digital circuits
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as LTspice
  • Experience with hardware design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
  • Proficiency with testing and troubleshooting of power electronic systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • 1-5 years of experience in power electronics or related field
  • Hands-on electronics lab expertise
  • Proficiency in PCB design software
  • Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high voltage systems > 5 kV
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
  • Coding experience, particularly with Python or MATLAB
  • Experience with RF electronics and RF power amplifiers
  • Experience with additive manufacturing and microfabrication

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize power converters and related magnetic, analog and digital circuitry
  • Perform simulation, analysis, and modeling of power electronic systems
  • Conduct hardware design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of power electronic systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of power electronic systems in the overall product
