About The Position

Novelis is a global leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, providing sustainable aluminum solutions to various markets including aerospace, automotive, beverage packaging, and specialty sectors. The Uhrichsville, OH facility, established in 1985, specializes in producing flat-rolled aluminum coil. This facility employs over 400 people and is responsible for preparing scrap aluminum for the rolling mill, annealing, tempering, leveling, and sizing it to customer specifications. The aluminum sheet produced serves industries such as building and construction, automotive, distribution, transportation, and consumer durables. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of practicing electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with AC and DC motor control, Medium and Low Voltage switchgear, and electrical control systems.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Must possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
  • Good digital literacy and experience with AutoCAD and or AutoCAD electrical.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and machine safety.
  • Vendor and contractor management experience.

  • Data analysis skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handling all aspects of the Electrical Engineering function, including design, maintenance, construction, and installation of equipment modifications.
  • Developing effective solutions to problems arising with plant equipment.
  • Solving issues related to meeting production needs amidst tight schedules, equipment failures, new equipment start-ups, and new product/process development.
  • Optimizing equipment utilization and efficiency through the application of the latest machine procedures, diagnostic equipment, and reliable electrical components.
  • Developing practical solutions to repetitive equipment failure problems.
  • Contributing engineering expertise to project work and the selection of replacement or new equipment to ensure consistency, standardization, and ease of maintenance.
  • Ensuring all recommended, repaired, or modified equipment meets company and governmental safety and health regulations.
  • Assisting in the development of safe, effective, and efficient engineering or maintenance procedures and repair work.
  • Continuously expanding knowledge of engineering and maintenance principles and practices.
  • Adhering to and supporting company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications).
  • Maintaining all power distribution and primary power system management.
