About The Position

KLA is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Design to join their growing Ann Arbor team. This role will contribute to the development of product equipment, test centers, software, and AI algorithms. The engineer will manage projects through all phases, from defining requirements and characterizing components to designing analog front-end circuits, schematic generation, coordinating PCB layout, debugging PCBAs, testing, and releasing documentation for production. The role involves working in closely integrated teams and collaborating with other groups for subsystem and system-level integration testing.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred as a PCBA Design Engineer.
  • Strong electrical engineering and physics fundamentals (analog, optoelectronics design, electromagnetic theory, etc.).
  • FPGA design experience.
  • Ability to write specifications and documentation necessary to initiate a project, test a project, and documentation for product release.
  • Proficiency in schematic entry (and board layout, preferably OrCAD and Cadence Allegro).
  • Proficiency in lab environments with tools like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to make design decisions from collected data.
  • Ability to work well in multi-functional/multi-discipline teams, and multi-cultural global organizations.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally based on business needs.
  • Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years; OR Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spice and EM (electromagnetic) simulation.
  • Opto-electrical design experience.
  • Data analysis through MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Firmware development experience.
