About The Position

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer / PCB Designer Intern for Summer 2027. This role is within our Printed Circuit Board Design Operations team, which is responsible for bringing electronic circuits to life in physical form using layout software. The intern will gain experience in component placement and routing to define electrical connectivity on manufactured circuit boards.

Requirements

• ECAD electrical schematic capture and physical layout tool experience or the desire to learn ECAD electrical schematic capture and physical layout tool skills
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Architecture Design, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Must graduate on or after December 2027.
• Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
• Must enjoy working on a computer for long periods of time
• Must be a fast learner

Responsibilities

• Plans and assists the design layout of components / products / circuit boards
• Performs enhancements and modifications for design layout
• Ensures that designs are free of process defects
• Performs high-density routing, develops symbols, and generates files, reports, and electronic PCB documentation
• Develops methodologies to enhance productivity
