Electrical Engineer, Mission Systems Integration

Anduril IndustriesCosta Mesa, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Anduril is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team at their Costa Mesa HQ. The Maneuver Dominance (MD) Team develops aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams in concert with ground maneuver forces. They leverage existing Anduril drone platforms and bring 3rd party platforms into Anduril’s Lattice ecosystem, developing perception and autonomy algorithms. The Electrical Engineer will own the electrical interfaces at the co-development boundary, ensuring every connection between Anduril's mission system and partner airframes is fully defined, agreed, and verified.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years in aerospace or defense electrical engineering with ICD development experience
  • Aerospace harness design — wiring, connectors (MIL-DTL-38999 or equivalent), backshell, and routing practices
  • Power budget analysis across complex vehicle electrical architectures
  • EMC planning and coordination per MIL-STD-461 or DO-160
  • Signal integrity awareness for high-speed digital interfaces
  • Experience driving interface closure with external partners or cross-org teams
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active US security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Rotorcraft or eVTOL electrical architecture familiarity
  • Vehicle bus protocols (ARINC 429, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, or Ethernet avionics)
  • Hybrid-electric power system interfaces — high-voltage isolation, battery management, regenerative loads
  • Avionics integration experience

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain electrical ICDs between the Anduril mission system and the co-development partner airframe — connector pinouts, power allocations, signal definitions, and harness routing constraints
  • Audit the existing ICD baseline for completeness and drive to a fully co-signed revision
  • Design Anduril-side harness architecture — wiring gauge, routing, connector selection, backshell, strain relief, and shield termination per applicable aerospace standards
  • Develop and verify power budget across all operational modes — normal, peak, emergency, and ground power
  • Lead EMC coordination with the co-development partner — conducted emissions limits, susceptibility thresholds, and test methodology alignment
  • Attend partner electrical design reviews as the Anduril electrical interface POC
  • Support first aircraft electrical integration and interface verification testing
  • Incorporate first-article lessons into production harness drawings

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package (available at little to no cost to employees) ensures you’re supported in health, recovery, and whatever comes next.
