About The Position

We are actively looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Manager to join our Tampa, FL office. You will join a highly collaborative global electrical team that spans multiple offices and countries. This high-performing group works seamlessly across locations to share expertise, balance workloads, and provide consistent support for projects throughout the company. As the Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Manager for the Tampa office, you will manage multiple plans, designs and plan production for electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include power distribution, lighting, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications. As the Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Manager, you will lead your local team supporting projects such as ports, marinas, terminals and alike. You will also lead projects supporting the Department of Defense and Transportation sectors. This position will also guide the office to developing greater client relationships in the local market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer licensure is required; with the ability to obtain in the State of Florida via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
  • 10+ years of experience in Power distribution projects
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to complete complex technical assignments and prepare and analyze technical reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office including spreadsheets for cable lists and calculations
  • Possess DBIDS card or eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients; required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, either ETAP or EasyPower, and AGI32
  • Availability and willingness to travel to the Jacksonville area and the Caribbean
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Manages, mentors and develops local electrical team
  • Completes multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates (firm-wide)
  • Manages review and provides oversite of design calculations, design drawings, procurement specifications, and construction specifications
  • Leads projects involving multiple or complex design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to: Medium/low voltage power distribution systems, Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear), Lighting systems, Lightning protection systems, Grounding systems, Communications systems, Electrical calculations, selective coordination and arc flash studies
  • Prepares detailed large contract documents, studies and cost estimates
  • Performs submittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projects
  • Assists in and adheres to companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes
  • Assists in NAVFAC and other DoD projects company wide
  • Meets with clients, utilities, and other parties to investigate site conditions/third party interface requirements for the project
  • Works with other disciplines to support and develop project pursuits and work
  • Supports work in Tampa, Jacksonville, and the Caribbean. Travels as needed typically no more than 10-15%
  • Supports firm-wide electrical needs, projects and assignments as needed and participates in related meetings
