About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV in New York, NY. This role will support the design and analysis of traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems, and third rail systems. The engineer will also support the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts using CAD software, and perform calculations related to voltage drop, current flow, and power system performance. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents, conducting field inspections and site visits, and assisting in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation. Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and codes is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
  • Experience in Electrical Power Distribution
  • Experience in Voltage Drop Calculation
  • Experience in Electrified rail transit systems, including AC and DC systems
  • Experience in Traction power AC and DC High and Low Voltage systems, including relaying, rectifier, distribution, and SCADA equipment
  • Experience with AREMA and IEEE standards for Traction Power design
  • Experience with Revit, Auto-CAD, and Microstation
  • Experience with OpenBuildings
  • Experience with Agi32
  • Experience with ETAP
  • Experience with SKM
