About The Position

Syska Hennessy Group is a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services, specializing in MEP, information and communication technology, architectural lighting, vertical transportation, and commissioning. This role is based in the Atlanta, GA office and will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets around the world. Requirements

  • Ability to use Revit for system layouts, spatial coordination, and the production of detailed drawings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction.
  • REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience is a must.
  • 7+ years' experience or 8+ years working in a consulting firm and assisting with the design of electrical power systems.
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection and applicable building codes.
  • Understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs.
  • EIT credential required.
  • PE required for Senior Engineer designation.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
  • Provide trade-specific system design, including layout (utilizing CAD/BIM), calculations (utilizing appropriate software), and other related design services.
  • Coordinate designs with other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.
  • Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer or Supervising Engineer.
  • Establish basic system application, design, and operational parameters/sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer or Supervising Engineer.
  • Participate in the QA/QC process for your work and the work of others as assigned.
  • Assist senior engineers and/or senior designers or Supervising Engineer in determining project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgets.
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports.
  • Support engineering senior or supervising staff in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
