About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an opening for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join their team during the summer of 2026. This position offers the opportunity to apply classroom-learned skills to programs supporting national defense services, including airborne mission computers, display processing computers, stores management systems, and radar processing systems. Interns will work with collaborative teams on various technical programs, enhancing their skill set among talented colleagues in a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded. GDMS employees collaborate closely with customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology
  • Enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • Preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire (preferred at time of hire)
  • Meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • An interest in the electrical hardware development process
  • Experience with classroom and lab-based circuit analysis, simulations, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to persevere through challenges with minimal direction
