About The Position

PAE is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team for a 10 to 12 week paid program. This program provides hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design, allowing interns to learn about the building design industry and the PAE and LUMA way. Interns will work directly as part of engineering and design teams, gaining an understanding of the entire design process from planning and execution to problem-solving, on projects ranging from small retrofits to high-profile Living Buildings.

Requirements

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions
• Effective communicator

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrical Load Calculations/Block Loads
• Complete EZ Power Crash Course
• Develop Schematic Design Narratives
• Conduct NEC Review
• Research Renewable Energies (PV, Wind, Fuel Cell technologies)
• Layout/design/calculate PV Systems
• Research Emerging Technologies (BIPV, level III car charge, CIGS PV, etc.)
• Utilize CAD and Revit
• Gain an overview of general project timelines
• Participate in Site Visits/Site Observation Reports
• Review/prepare cost estimates
• Engage in M/E coordination schedules
