About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking an electrical engineer to perform detailed electrical and instrumentation engineering for industrial customers. This role focuses on industrial electrical systems, including instrumentation, controls, communications, and low- and medium-voltage power systems within oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include performing design calculations, developing equipment specifications, providing purchasing assistance, documenting existing systems in the field, interacting with clients for planning and reporting, creating detailed electrical design drawings and documents for construction and maintenance, conducting electrical studies for new and existing systems, and programming protection relays, VFDs, and related equipment. The engineer will also manage project engineering functions such as scheduling, estimating, tracking, and communications, and may be involved in occasional marketing efforts. Familiarity with IEEE standards and NFPA codes (especially NFPA 70) is required.

Requirements

  • BSEE or MSEE from an ABET accredited university.
  • 6+ years of experience as an electrical engineer in an industrial setting.
  • Electrical-system and arc-flash study experience.
  • Working knowledge of common electrical systems drawings and documentation such as electrical plans and elevations, conduit and cable schedules, one-line diagrams, MCC and switchgear layouts and details, electrical panel schedules, wiring diagrams, motor-control and other schematics, P&IDs, lighting plans, heat-trace diagrams, hazardous area classification plans, electrical equipment specification sheets, motor lists, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other common office software.
  • Ability to mobilize throughout industrial facilities, including climbing stairs and ladders, negotiating narrow walkways, climbing over piping and other obstacles, walking long distances, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa) now or in the future.
