Electrical Engineer III, Design Assurance

Neros Technologies•Torrance, CA
•$136,500 - $191,500

About The Position

As an Electrical Engineer III, Design Assurance at Neros, you will bring up, characterize, and validate the circuit boards used in next-generation airside and groundside platforms. You will write and run test plans, contribute to worst-case circuit analysis from schematic through bench validation, and design fixtures and automated test setups. You will work with design engineers during product development to feed results back into the design.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in electrical hardware engineering, with hands-on bench validation of circuit boards.
  • Experience with board bring-up and characterization, including writing test plans and reports.
  • Proficiency with bench instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Board-level design experience, including schematics and PCBs designed by the candidate; test fixtures and test boards count.
  • Circuit analysis across analog, digital, and power supply circuits, including hand calculations, tolerance analysis, and SPICE simulation such as LTspice or similar.
  • Test automation and data analysis experience in Python or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Signal and power integrity simulation (HyperLynx, SIwave, or similar) and bench measurement experience, including TDR, VNA, and eye diagrams.
  • Hands-on WCCA and component derating on production hardware.
  • Previous HALT/HASS, environmental, or EMC pre-compliance testing experience.
  • Production test development experience with a contract manufacturer.
  • Background in UAV, aerospace, automotive, defense, or medical device hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up, characterize, and validate new circuit boards against requirements.
  • Contribute to worst-case circuit analysis, from schematic-level calculations and simulation through post-layout checks and bench validation, and feed measured results back into the analysis.
  • Write and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Design and build test fixtures, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups, and automated test scripts.
  • Run qualification and reliability testing, including thermal, vibration, and HALT/HASS testing, and support root-cause analysis on failures.
  • Provide design-for-test (DFT) input to design engineers during product development.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants as part of the total compensation package.
