We currently have an opening for Electrical Engineer II in our Dyco Electronics, located in Hornell, NY. This mid‑level engineering role performs independent design, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering analysis of electrical and magnetic components. The position of Electrical Engineer II manages new product development activities, supports existing designs, performs complex testing, and interacts with customers and internal departments to ensure design compliance and manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3–5+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuit behavior and magnetic components.
  • Proficiency with CAD modeling and design tools (Inventor or equivalent).
  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or structured problem‑solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design new electrical and magnetic components or modify existing designs.
  • Analyze specifications and customer requirements to establish design parameters.
  • Prepare cost estimates, materials, and process definitions for new product quotes.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical measurements to validate performance.
  • Build and test prototypes to verify design intent.
  • Prepare and maintain schematics, drawings, BOMs, test plans, and reports.
  • Support production and troubleshoot electrical‑related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, military requirements, and regulatory specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and cross‑functional engineering initiatives.
