About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II with hands-on experience in hardware emulation, component‑level hardware troubleshooting, and system integration. This role focuses on working with high-speed electronic systems, configuring and programming individual hardware components, and supporting secure development practices. The candidate will contribute to design verification, prototype bring-up, and cross-functional engineering collaboration. This position is onsite in our McKinney, TX campus.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in hardware troubleshooting, component‑level programming, or system integration.
  • Experience with high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, or similar.
  • Experience with programming or scripting tools (C, Python, or similar) for component configuration.
  • Experience using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and power instrumentation.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, protocols).
  • Experience working with hardware emulation or FPGA‑based prototyping platforms.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices (secure coding, configuration management, automated validation).
  • Exposure to system cybersecurity concepts applied to embedded or networked hardware.
  • Experience with configuration management tools or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, or network testing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and operate hardware emulation platforms to evaluate system performance and behavior.
  • Troubleshoot and program individual hardware components including microcontrollers, transceivers, sensors, and communication devices.
  • Integrate, test, and validate hardware involving high-speed interfaces and networked systems.
  • Diagnose issues related to signal integrity, communication protocols, timing, and component interactions.
  • Support lab activities such as hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and test execution.
  • Develop scripts or small utilities to automate configuration, testing, or data capture.
  • Apply DevSecOps principles to ensure hardware, firmware, and supporting tools meet security best practices.
  • Prepare clear documentation including test results, configuration guides, and design review materials.
  • Collaborate with systems, firmware, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration.
