About The Position

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will collaborate across disciplines to design and deliver innovative electrical systems for a variety of building types. You will translate complex engineering concepts into high-quality documentation and solutions aligned with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Through strong communication and teamwork, you will contribute technical expertise that drives successful project outcomes and enhances client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program (or equivalent combination of education and experience required for licensure).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience across a variety of project types.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and communications design.
  • Proven experience developing construction drawings, specifications, and executing QA/QC processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and coordinate complex projects while integrating work across multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and documentation processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a client-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with arc flash studies and related simulation software; proficiency in Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software and Easy Power preferred.
  • Professional affiliations and certifications such as NCEES, NSPE, CSI-CDT, LEED AP BD+C, or WELL AP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical design concepts and documentation for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and communication systems across all project phases.
  • Coordinate electrical design efforts through schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and work sessions with project teams and clients.
  • Utilize design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, BSD SpecLink, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting Software, and Easy Power to produce accurate deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines and external consultants to ensure coordinated, conflict-free documents.
  • Support QA/QC processes and ensure deliverables align with Progressive standards, budget, and schedule.
  • Monitor project scope and communicate changes, risks, or budget impacts to the Senior Electrical Engineer.
  • Assist in proposal development and contribute to managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate a high level of responsiveness and technical confidence.
