About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer II to join our Avionics Network Hardware team within the Computing Products Department of the Displays, Controls, Computing & Networking Directorate. Our team develops and sustains high‑bandwidth, mission‑critical networking solutions supporting both avionics aircraft control and airline information services. Our product portfolio includes: Next‑generation network and computing solutions, ARINC 664 network switches and end systems, High‑performance, high‑assurance computing modules, Video and graphics processing hardware. In this role you will be involved in the development of digital hardware circuit boards for new products. Responsibilities will also include support of existing products including product recertification driven by minor or major changes, cost savings identification, troubleshooting equipment from the field or OEM assembly line and obsolescence management. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge avionics networking technologies that directly impact aircraft performance, safety, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Previous or current experience in an Electrical Engineering role.

  • Experience with digital electronics design principles
  • Schematic capture experience for creation of digital circuits

  • Capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Designing circuit / board layout to support product lifecycle
  • Working through product recertification (TSO or PMA) driven by a minor/major changes
  • Extracting cost savings solutions to the overall standard cost of the product.
  • Supporting production to achieve on time delivery goals
  • Resolving product issues and technical inquiries from our OEM customers
  • Troubleshooting returned equipment from the field or OEM assembly line
  • Evaluating product part change notifications (obsolete parts, end of life parts, etc)
  • Evaluate designs for Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)
  • Requirements capture, tracing, and verification
