Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Understand basic electrical circuit diagrams, schematics, electrical blueprints and drawings.
- Utilize reference tables to determine the definition of basic electrical symbols and design callouts.
- Read and understand production reports related to quality, and quantity.
- Write NCRs and comply with safety rules.
- Establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff.
- College level technical math.
- Professional Engineer or Engineering In Training certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Power Distribution (Power and Control), switchgear, PDU, transformers, and Manufacturing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical drawings, and schematics at a high level.
- Create electrical design drawings using AutoCad Electric.
- Update and/or create new electrical power and control design documents from project specifications and reference documents with some guidance from senior electrical engineers.
- Perform most electrical calculations for current and new designs with limited assistance.
- Update instrumentation and electrical and control portions of a P&ID drawings with little guidance.
- Program PLCs and HMIs and set up most PID loop designs with limited assistance from a senior electrical engineer.
- Perform basic functions using MS Office and similar business-related software.
- Add and manage BOMs, perform required research for needed information, and assist with the management of project schedules using Epicor.
- Assist in leading a team of fellow engineers, designers, and drafters with resolving design challenges.
- Perform intermediate electrical troubleshooting and problem solving with some oversight.
- Interface with engineering staff, manufacturing staff, and operations staff in a productive manner to gain needed information to properly perform electrical design work.
- Participate in engineering design meetings to learn and grow experience of design methods and processes.
- Work closely with fellow engineers, designers, and drafters to improve quality and efficiency.
- Guide entry-level electrical designers and CAD drafters in the performance of their work.
- Contribute to electrical design reviews for new and existing product designs.
- Punctual. Maintains regular and consistent job attendance.
- Interfaces well with both internal and external customers.
- Uses advanced knowledge of the National Electric Code, IEEE standards, MSHA, and other applicable standards to teach and grow members of the electrical team.
