About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Hardware Engineering – User Facing Systems, the Electrical Engineer II (EEII) contributes to the design, development, and sustainment of electrical systems that shape how customers interact with Hach products. This role sits within the User Facing Systems team, where engineering decisions directly influence usability, reliability, and the overall customer experience. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the EEII applies strong engineering fundamentals while growing their ability to think critically, collaborate effectively, and connect technical decisions to real-world customer outcomes. This role supports both new product development and sustaining efforts, balancing innovation with continuous improvement of products already in the field. This position is part of the User Facing Systems team located in Loveland, Colorado, and will be on-site.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing support
  • Foundational experience with circuit design, analysis, and lab testing
  • Exposure to user-facing product design considerations (usability, environmental constraints, compliance)
  • Familiarity with ISO design controls or regulated development environments
  • Experience supporting products in production or field environments

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of electrical subsystems that support user-facing functionality, including interface electronics, enclosure-integrated systems, and compliance-driven features
  • Execute and refine test strategies to verify performance, reliability, and environmental robustness
  • Investigate issues observed in the field or manufacturing, working with others to understand root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Create clear and useful engineering documentation that supports team understanding and long-term product success
  • Design, analyze, and test electrical circuits and subsystems to meet functional and performance requirements
  • Support design verification activities across environmental and operational conditions (temperature, EMI/ESD, variation, aging, etc.)
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions
  • Support component selection, circuit layout input, and design tradeoff analysis
  • Assist in sustaining activities including redesigns, obsolescence mitigation, and product improvements
