About The Position

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a Process Support Engineer in the development wafer fab within the Microelectronics / Module Design & Foundry Services Department. In this position, the chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Raytheon semiconductor foundry in the areas of process development, photolithography, metals deposition, wet chemistry processing, and visual inspection. He or she will be responsible for processing wafers in a cleanroom environment, running and maintaining process equipment, and documenting and communicating all measurement results. The chosen candidate is also expected to work with engineers in various areas of wafer fabrication and process development on next generation technologies. An understanding of basic semiconductor processing and cleanroom experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with Photolithography, metals deposition, wet chemistry processing, and/or visual inspection.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of semiconductor processing techniques and equipment, whether through coursework or hands-on lab experience
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
  • Desire to learn new wafer fabrication skills and willingness to assist team members
  • Knowledge of III-V semiconductors, preferably Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride
  • Desire to work in team within a semiconductor cleanroom environment

Responsibilities

  • Working with team members and engineers in the development fab to process and characterize wafers
  • Photolithography, metals deposition, wet chemistry processing, and/or visual inspection
  • Document and effectively communicate all measurements and processing steps
  • Support the production and development fab in various processing needs
  • Operation and maintenance of semiconductor tools
  • Visit nearby universities and labs (once a week or less) to utilize their equipment for various prototyping and experiments.
