About The Position

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects related to IFE/Electrical or Actuation systems. This role involves planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating electrical engineering work, ensuring compliance with Airframe requirements, IFE supplier requirements, customer requirements, accepted engineering practices, and RECARO standards. The position also ensures effective communication and coordination among all project disciplines and participants, and is accountable for ensuring that assigned personnel coordinate their activities and that contract requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with 3-7 years of experience or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the design, integration, and certification of Electrical Components installed in Aircraft interiors is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in CATIA V5 and electrical design/wire routing modules within CATIA V5 or similar program is required.
  • Knowledge of PLM based database systems such as Teamcenter, Agile or Enovia is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the use of Airframe (Boeing/Airbus) regulations, as well as the use of parts lists with high variant diversity is desired.
  • Must have advanced knowledge and understanding of aircraft seat manufacturing processes, in order to ensure that the appropriate manufacturing procedures are utilized to meet the requirements of individualized client specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge about aircraft documentation systems for after sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is desired.
  • Multicultural exposure is a plus.
  • Good understanding of software programming and software configuration control is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all aspects of the electrical design and integration of electronics into aircraft seats, including coordination with Designers, Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Certification Engineers, and Product Support personnel.
  • Plans, schedules, and tracks engineering tasks, providing detailed reports to Program Management and Engineering Management.
  • Summarizes technical customer requirements, communicates them to the team, and ensures customer expectations are met.
  • Creates Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) by reviewing and interpreting IFE/Electrical Vendor testing procedures and hardware.
  • Creates Grounding Bonding Calculations (ELDs) by calculating the resistance of electrical components and the resistance of the ground path.
  • Completes root cause analysis on Material Review Board (MRB) actions and presents resolutions to Engineering, Quality, and Operations Departments.
  • Interfaces with outside suppliers (IFE/Electrical) during the design process.
  • Participates and contributes in teleconferences with overseas engineers and program management, applying manufacturing engineering knowledge, discussing manufacturing issues, and suggesting potential seat development topics and innovations.
  • Creates electrical block diagrams or Schematics by interpreting IFE/Electrical Vendor drawings, documentation, and specifications.
  • Coordinates design meetings with Project Engineers to discuss engineering issues, including design changes and customer requests.
  • Responds to customer concerns by making changes related to IFE/Electrical component integration, ensuring customer expectations and applicable regulations are met, under the supervision of the Project Engineer.
  • Supports Purchasing and Production by providing bills of materials and documentation to support sourcing of components and their integration.
