This position serves as the site subject matter expert for assigned electrical/controls systems, monitoring and trending system/component performance, interfacing with external vendors, and directing onsite testing and troubleshooting. The role involves coordinating cross-functionally with other departments to ensure system concerns, schedules, and budgeting are addressed, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and evaluating fleet operating experience to improve equipment reliability. The engineer will evaluate preventative maintenance program performance, recommend adjustments, and maintain the configuration of station and turbine-specific Distributed Control System (DCS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and programmable logic controllers (PLC) process control systems. Responsibilities include developing the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes, managing external control system vendor support, interfacing with operations & maintenance, coordinating with cyber security specialists, and managing control/electrical system vendor contracts. The role also involves maintaining the plant risk grid for system/equipment responsibilities and being proficient in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making sound recommendations.
