As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will be responsible for designing and integrating electrical/electronic systems, validating electrical/electronic systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
  • Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.
  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
  • Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements.
  • Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts.
  • Understanding of an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
  • Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.
  • Understanding Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs
  • Familiar with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocol
  • Familiar with Curtiss Wright and/or similar data acquisition systems

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the instrumentation effort from design to de-modification through requirements development, design, lab test, integration, and test operations support
  • Plan, participate, and execute test plan development to ensure objective results are of sound quality
  • Responsible for developing, modifying, and implementing standard operating procedures for instrumentation hardware and system design
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems.
  • Maintain, document, and control NIST standards for calibration and verification of measurement equipment.
