About The Position

Bath Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer II or III with 5–10 years of experience to support and lead project teams in the design and implementation of complex electrical systems for industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who is comfortable working both in the office and in the field, supporting active operating facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and developing practical engineering solutions from early design through construction support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in engineering design, consulting engineering, industrial facilities, utility infrastructure, or related environments.
  • Working knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, power system studies, protective relaying, PLC controls, and building automation systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with engineering teams, including mentoring or training junior staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for low and medium voltage distribution, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, central utility plants, and building automation systems.
  • Support medium and high voltage power distribution projects, including industrial power systems, utility infrastructure, and substation-related work.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, electrical plans, grounding systems, conduit layouts, cable schedules, lighting plans, equipment layouts, panel schedules, and electrical details.
  • Perform electrical load calculations using Excel, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar engineering software.
  • Conduct system modeling and power system studies, including load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, coordination, and related calculations.
  • Develop, review, and modify sequences of operation for protective relaying, PLC controls, and building automation systems.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of major electrical equipment and operation, including motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, protective relays, and control systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors to define, verify, and review equipment specifications based on project and application requirements.
  • Perform field investigations, site walkdowns, field verification, quantity take-offs, and existing condition assessments for renovation, retrofit, and brownfield projects.
  • Prepare and review design documents at SD, DD, CD, FEL, detailed design, and IFC levels, ensuring appropriate scope, quality, and level of detail.
  • Develop technical specifications aligned with project requirements, client standards, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines including mechanical, instrumentation, controls, civil, and structural teams.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Respond to RFIs in a timely manner and review contractor submittals for accuracy and compliance with design intent.
  • Conduct and participate in site visits, construction coordination meetings, and project meetings.
  • Prepare site reports, technical documentation, engineering reports, and project records.
  • Support construction administration, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Support project schedules, deliverables, and client coordination efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
