About The Position

Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will design complex electrical systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration. You will play a key role in developing engineering documentation, commissioning machine applications, and providing technical expertise to enhance automation systems. You will be part of exciting projects from conception to production, ensuring safety and innovation at every step. The Electrical Engineer I will provide technical support to senior engineers, research and develop new electrical systems and components, and troubleshoot/ repair electrical equipment according to Leitner-Poma’s requirements. This includes PLCs, HMIs, and AC drives and motors. The Electrical Engineer I may also assist in project management, documentation, and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer science engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school.
  • Member of professional practice organization, member of local program or committee.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally at least 25%-30%.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather in a mountainous environment at high altitudes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America.
  • Proficient in the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Office.
  • 3 years’ design background, including Electrical CAD systems and database management.
  • 2 years’ experience in integrated automation/information systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years’ experience with Rockwell Software.
  • 2 years’ experience with DC and/or AC drives and motors.
  • Exposure to National Electrical Code (NEC) and Arc-Flash (NFPA-70).
