About The Position

The candidate will participate in new product development and support of existing products, with responsibilities spanning design, test, qualification, and certification. This role includes troubleshooting complex problems, developing solutions, and communicating outcomes, while collaborating across disciplines and functions within the organization. You will be a part of cutting edge multidisciplinary product development. You will learn the aerospace design standards and requirements, multiple aerospace product lines and their place in the aviation systems, including commercial and defense applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in analog design, EMI, lightning protection, power supply design, digital communications, qualification testing, and high-power electronics
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience

Responsibilities

  • Small signal analog and mixed-signal circuit design for new and existing products
  • Troubleshooting, optimization, and root cause failure analysis of electrical circuit designs, including hands-on testing and experiments
  • Design optimization for performance, cost, and manufacturability
  • Definition and management of product requirements across all phases: design, development, integration, testing, verification, validation, and production
  • Component analysis and obsolescence management
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and documentation; manage design change processes
  • Interface with engineers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders on engineering projects and products
  • Support production to improve yield, reduce scrap, and achieve performance metrics
  • Develop deep technical understanding of assigned product families
  • Provide technical leadership on complex design projects, serving the electrical engineering community and Engines Value Stream
  • Provide effort estimations for new hardware pursuits, rework, and redesign activities
  • Develop and execute electrical engineering standard practices
  • Proficiency with Allegro and Cadence tools to design schematics, PCBs, Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), and associated drawings
