About The Position

As an Electrical Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will learn to develop, modify, integrate, and test both flight and ground vehicle training simulators. Devices range in complexity from simple desktop trainers to high-fidelity, full-flight training systems. Work includes both clean-sheet and design reuse. From an electrical perspective, devices are a conglomerate of off-the-shelf computational elements and internally designed electro-mechanical hardware, knit together with custom arrays of cabling and interconnects. The functionality and fidelity of the finished simulated vehicle provide customer trainees with all the experience necessary to be able to operate or service their real-world counterparts safely, efficiently, and with confidence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D software Design tool
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint)
  • Technical Co-op/Intern or Military experience working on electrical equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Possession of an active U.S. Government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Work with technical leadership to analyze, design, and document electro-mechanical hardware and interconnects of limited to medium complexity
  • Learn and utilize applicable internal processes and tools for the development of training simulator hardware
  • Engage with engineering team to understand design requirements
  • Learn to use independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities
  • Support remote teams collaborating on common projects
  • May provide support for customer or internal reviews and meetings
  • Some travel may be required; up to ~15%
