About The Position

D451 VIRGINIA Waterfront Engineering is seeking electrical engineers to join its power distribution team. The role involves developing solutions for operational and test issues related to power distribution equipment and propulsion plant control equipment. Candidates should possess technical knowledge of circuit breakers, switchboards, and electronic and analog control systems, along with the ability to develop troubleshooting strategies and write procedures for shipyard execution. The position also requires hands-on deck-plate support within a shipyard environment. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, capable of working within a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team, and demonstrate a strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth. Occasional off-shift overtime and watchbill support are required. Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements, allowing some remote work, with specifics varying by department and classified material interaction.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering
1-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
Effective communicator
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work well in a team setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing and able to work in both an office environment and a shipboard/shipyard environment

Nice To Haves

Education Concentration or prior experience in Power Distribution or Power Electronics
Experience with military equipment
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems or equipment
Experience with Navy electrical systems
