About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a motivated and innovative entry level ASIC/FPGA Engineer 1 to join our Applied Research and Technology (ART) Microelectronics Technology team. Your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge defense solutions across Mission Systems, leveraging your skills in the design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital FPGAs & ASICs. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado or other FPGA-specific tools).
  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using hardware schematics, integrated FPGA vendor debug tools, and digital lab equipment.
  • Digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs.
  • Some background in signal processing and/or information assurance.
  • Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink).
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion).

Responsibilities

  • Support requirements capture and ASIC / FPGA digital architecture.
  • Implement ASIC / FPGA digital design using RTL.
  • Support verification and system integration of ASIC / FPGA implementations.
