About The Position

RTX Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Enterprise Services team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on supporting facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management. The position involves project estimating, load sizing, coordination studies, arc flash studies, development of construction drawings, preparation of bid documents, and construction administration for various projects including office renovations, laboratory fit-ups, and manufacturing equipment installations. The role requires supporting projects from the design phase through bid, construction, and closeout. The position is based in Andover, Massachusetts, with support for a site in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and occasional consultation on projects within the Northeast region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant prior experience and knowledge in building electrical engineering, including High, Medium, and Low Voltage Primary and Secondary Power, Multi-Frequency Power, Grounding Solutions, Load Sizing, Control Systems and interlock systems, Coordination Studies, Lighting and Controls, and Lightning Protection.
  • Experience with construction project management, including customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, establishing and updating schedules, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Experience writing clear technical engineering specifications, reports, and operating procedures.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SKM short circuit & arc fault analysis and feeder & transformer sizing.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project Scheduler.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Active DoD Confidential security clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Professional Engineering license/registration in Electrical Engineering in the state of Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interface and present to leadership, internal customers, information technology, security, construction trade workers, and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works.
  • Experience coordinating Electrical designs with other building design disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security.
  • Experience in Facilities Engineering, Design, and Construction Project Management.
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric.

Responsibilities
