Electrical Engineer, Data Centers, R&D

FluidstackAustin, TX
$203,000 - $232,000

About The Position

Fluidstack exists to make humanity more free by developing powerful AI. They are singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. This involves acquiring power, designing and building data centers, and operating them. The company values extreme ownership, velocity, first principles thinking, and a passion for the problem space, often requiring long hours at high intensity. This role involves engineering electrical distribution for data centers, from medium voltage to the rack, and running critical power studies. The engineer will develop equipment specifications, support construction builds by answering field questions, and ensure as-built changes are integrated into the reference design. The company is committed to pay equity and transparency and is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

  • Designed electrical distribution for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Run own studies and stand behind the settings.
  • Specified and evaluated major distribution equipment.
  • One-lines are current, correct, and buildable.
  • Supported energization on designs drawn.

Nice To Haves

  • ETAP or SKM depth.
  • Medium voltage design.
  • UPS and static transfer systems.
  • NEC mastery.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer data center electrical distribution in the reference design: medium voltage through busway to the rack.
  • Run the studies: load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash owned in ETAP or SKM.
  • Develop equipment specs: switchgear, transformers, UPS, and busway packages evaluated and integrated.
  • Support builds: field questions answered same-day, as-built deltas engineered back into the reference.

Benefits

  • Pay equity and transparency
