About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 to join our team. This role involves designing electrical control systems for custom automation equipment, including assembly, inspection, and testing systems. You will develop detailed schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material, and integrate electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability, while supporting project timelines and resolving engineering challenges. You will also provide technical support during machine build, debug, and startup, troubleshoot electrical issues, and assist with system validation and testing. Continuous improvement is key, involving staying current with industry standards and contributing to design libraries and documentation.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in electrical design within an industrial automation or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience designing systems for custom machinery, assembly lines, or test equipment.
  • Proficiency with EPLAN (preferred), AutoCAD Electrical, or AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, including: PLC I/O and panel design, Motor controls, safety circuits, and power distribution, Pneumatic and hydraulic control integration.
  • Ability to perform electrical load calculations and system sizing.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control systems for custom automation equipment, including assembly, inspection, and testing systems.
  • Develop detailed schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or AutoCAD.
  • Integrate electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems into cohesive control solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Support program timelines by delivering designs that align with project scope, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to provide status updates and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to develop assembly instructions, wiring standards, and quality procedures.
  • Provide technical support during machine build, debug, and startup phases.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement design modifications as needed.
  • Assist with system validation, testing, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in automation and controls.
  • Contribute to standardization efforts, design libraries, and engineering documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability in design processes.
