About The Position

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of Honeybee Robotics' electronic Motion Control products. You will contribute to multi-board designs through development, gaining experience as products progress toward flight-ready status and transition to the manufacturing and test engineering teams. You will contribute to electronic design within project teams, support design reviews, and collaborate with customers and colleagues. This includes working within multidisciplinary team structures, developing prototypes, test plans and circuit designs under the supervision of senior engineers, and designing hardware that will actually go to space. We are looking for someone eager to grow their technical expertise and commitment to quality, making a positive impact on safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of work experience in electronic product design
  • Experience with embedded system design, including: Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal Design
  • Board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
  • Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)
  • Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power Conversion
  • Documentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)
  • Familiarity with: Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)
  • Cable and Wire Harness Design
  • Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Experience in prototype development, debug, and test in a lab environment
  • Experience crafting and launching products in regulated environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience crafting motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
  • Experience with: EEE-INST-002 and radiation-hardness/mitigation
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Altium Designer
  • Familiarity with: DSP and Microcontroller firmware development
  • Cable and Wire Harness Design
  • FPGA Design (Verilog and VHDL)
  • System and functional requirements generation

Responsibilities

  • Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium
  • Presenting technical information to project stakeholders
