About the position
As an Electrical Engineer at Red 6 in the Augmented Reality/Technology Department, you will play a critical role in developing next-generation augmented reality systems. You will be responsible for designing and improving the electrical interfaces of Red 6's Augmented Reality headset and various platforms, including military aircraft. This role involves working with Altium Layout specialists, prototype and production PCB and CCA suppliers, and technicians for debugging designs. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, 2-5 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with standard lab equipment.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and integrate electronic equipment, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high-performance hardware systems
- Determine design approaches and parameters
- Analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Use high-level programming language to configure programmable logic devices
- Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
- Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
- Identify component operational characteristics that may impact system performance and sustainability
- Review vendor capability to support development
- Apply specialized skill sets including digital, FPGA, DSP, CCA, power, antenna, RF, and control systems knowledge as required
- Develop, design, and assess methodologies and performance of specialized algorithms for radar, communications, sonar, geophysical, and other sensor processing applications
- Commute or move to Broomfield, Colorado for on-site work (relocation negotiable)
- Perform other duties as described
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or directly related field
- 2-5 years of prior relevant experience
- Proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- Practical knowledge of project management
- Familiarity with standard lab equipment - oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers
- Altium experience would be a PLUS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship
