Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered or working toward registration as an EIT
  • 2–5 years of experience in an engineering consulting environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, ASHRAE, IES)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication—both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eligibility to obtain a Québec Professional Engineer (ing.)license

Nice To Haves

  • REVIT experience is an asset
  • Bilingual (English and French) communication skills are considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical systems including lighting, power, and fire alarm
  • Develop drawings using AutoCAD and support REVIT-based projects
  • Prepare schematics, riser diagrams, and system layouts
  • Perform lighting calculations and support equipment sizing and selection
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, ASHRAE, IES, etc.)
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams
  • Support the preparation of specifications and engineering reports
  • Attend client and coordination meetings
  • Participate in site reviews and construction meetings
  • Conduct site audits to verify existing conditions
  • Assist with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, CCNs, and SIs
  • Liaise with utilities, municipalities, and other stakeholders as required
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Take initiative in your professional development and pursue your P.Eng.
  • Manage your time effectively across multiple projects
  • Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement
