We are looking for an Electrical EIT to join our highly collaborative and motivated local electrical team in the Saskatoon Office, supporting projects in sectors such as commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or ability to attain one.
  • Efficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical design experience.
  • Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to general Civil Engineering experience a plus.
  • Prior experience in both P&C and physical substation design considered a plus.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation considered a plus.
  • Prior experience consulting or working for an electric utility considered a plus.
  • Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (low, medium, and high voltage), generation facilities, and industrial facilities.
  • Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
  • Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
  • Performing site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.
