Electrical EIT/Designer

About The Position

In the role of Electrical EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical engineering techniques and procedures. You will work directly with owners to develop recommendations, review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines, and write/edit electrical specifications, select equipment and electrical devices. You will also take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution, and make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed. You may function as a Project Manager on small and mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the principal focus of the position. You will supervise the work of Electrical CAD Technicians and coordinate the design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines as needed. You will perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Data center/mission-critical project experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with some or all the following is beneficial: electrical devices and circuits, control schematics, electrical diagrams, electrical systems theory.
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity or willingness to learn electrical design software.
  • Experience with AutoDesk software including Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Candidates living near the Boise, Idaho area are preferred.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
