About The Position

The Electrical Draftsman creates detailed wiring and layout diagrams for electrical projects in residential buildings. These drawings support installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. The role works closely with electrical engineers to translate project specifications into accurate, detailed drawings. The position is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits to gather data and verify measurements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in electrical drafting or a related field.
• Certificate in drafting or a related field; field experience in electrical work is a plus.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools and drafting software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as NEC.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints and perform capacity and size calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed wiring diagrams and layout plans.
• Collaborate with engineers and the electrical team to understand project scopes and requirements.
• Use specialized design software to create and modify drawings.
• Review, revise, and update existing and new electrical plans based on feedback.
• Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes, including NEC.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and verify measurements.
