About The Position

As an Electrical Designer at Glumac in our Los Angeles, CA office, you will play a vital role in supporting our electrical discipline and ensuring the success of diverse and innovative projects. This position offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, leverage advanced design and BIM technologies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions. You will help drive projects from vision to reality by developing designs that shape the built environment, leaving a visible mark on the communities and industries we serve.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an MEP Designer in the building construction industry.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, showcasing your mastery of industry-leading design tools.
  • Must be located within a commutable distance of the Los Angeles, CA office.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of OHSPD/HCAI.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Professional Engineering PE license.
  • LEED AP BD+C accreditation or WELL certification, highlighting your dedication to sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan electrical power systems for all types of projects, including but not limited to: commercial, advanced technology, mission critical, education, government, healthcare, science & technology.
  • Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Work with external team members, including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors.
  • Work with internal team members of other disciplines to provide a coordinated and thought-out design.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and equipment selection.
  • Assist with electrical code research for project-specific issues.
  • Support construction administration tasks, including responses to RFIs and equipment submittals.
  • Interface with code officials and contractors as needed.
  • Work closely with project teams to support assigned efforts from concept through construction.
