About The Position

In this role, you will assist the Lead Engineers in the design, engineering, procurement, and product life cycle management of large-scale custom manufactured industrial equipment. You will work close with other internal teams and departments to support safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred
  • An associate's or higher degree in computer-Aided Drafting, Applied Science, or related technical education is preferred
  • One or more years of experience in CAD design and production of electrical design documents
  • At least 0-3 years of experience in conduit schedules and layout work, cable tray schedules and layout work, schematics, power one-lines, and field verification and auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams for motor controls, and process control
  • Experience with engineering, manufacturing, and/or oil and gas environments is preferred.
  • Must have SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based programs is required

Responsibilities

  • Attention to detail, with the ability to create a quality and accurate electrical design and drawing set.
  • Proficient in Solidworks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical with direction from upper management
  • Perform all aspects of the design and drafting of electrical assignments using experience, knowledge, and practical design methods
  • Familiarity with design/layout of PLC Panels, enclosures, logic and I/O components, wiring, wiring duct, HMIs, wiring, terminal blocks, and UL 508/A standards.
  • Read and understand schematic drawings, one line, and electrical data sheets.
  • Must have some understanding of conceptual and design process skills and good problem-solving ability
  • Capable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies in a panel layout and/or schematic drawing.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly with others, both verbally and in writing, and not be hesitant to ask questions and seek direction
  • Assist in the development of panel layouts in 2D drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff
  • Assist in the preparation of panel details for quote/bid, with the project engineer's or project manager's guidance
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce drawings
  • Support other designers to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Must be a leader who represents the organization with the ability to be a liaison to our customers, adhere to company standards, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Must follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Performs all work in compliance with company standards, does not deviate from policies and procedures, and adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
