About The Position

Seeking an Electrical Designer for a firm that works with clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation. They define success by constructability and achieve it through highly coordinated BIM models and a carefully executed quality control plan. This position is based in the office at our McKinney, TX location to foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth. Open to hybrid opportunity. As an Electrical Designer, you’ll start your career in a collaborative environment focused on production efficiency, constructability, and real-world application. You’ll support senior engineers in the design of electrical systems for multifamily, hospitality, retail, and commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience while learning our production-focused approach to design.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
• 0 to 2 years of building design experience.
• Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam.
• Basic understanding of industry codes, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and International Building Code (IBC).
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing clarity and directness.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with or interest in building design.
• Experience with or exposure to translating design concepts into practical, buildable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update electrical drawings and BIM models in Revit, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and adherence to company standards.
• Support the design of lighting, power systems, HVAC power, single-line diagrams, lighting controls, fire alarms, communications, and security systems.
• Ensure designs meet company standards and comply with industry codes and local requirements.
• Engage in continuous learning and contribute to improving our internal standards and documentation.
• Work alongside senior engineers and mentors to gain the knowledge and experience needed to advance into higher levels of responsibility.
