The Electrical Designer is generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of designers when functioning as a lead designer. The lead designer is accountable for delivering electrical and instrumentation deliverables and services on time, within budget, and to quality expectations. The role may also involve advanced design work as a technical specialist on complex assignments. It requires extensive progressive experience in electrical and instrumentation design, use of project controls for cost, schedule, and quality, and the ability to work under minimal supervision. The position produces electrical and instrumentation design documents and specifications, coordinates work across staff and disciplines, and supports clients and project teams on technical matters. It provides technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced personnel, leads design staff toward scope, schedule, and budget objectives, and contributes to checking, estimating, planning, and professional development activities.
