About The Position

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Design Technician in Rogers, AR. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. You will contribute to project design progress, work within project monetary budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will also support practical, efficient solutions while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience minimum required, 3 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
  • Revit experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity design tasks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
